Postpartum Doula Support in Nashville & Middle Tennessee
Intentional guidance and thoughtful, in-home care to support healing, bonding, and finding your family’s rhythms in postpartum life.
You’ve prepared for birth, now what?
The first 40 days with a newborn can feel like a whirlwind of feeding, healing, emotions, and endless “to-dos.” Many families feel pressure to “bounce back” quickly, yet inside they’re running on fumes.
We see you.
Postpartum is not meant to be a solo act. Across cultures, families honor this season with rest and community care. With the right support, you can spend less time juggling logistics and more time resting, bonding, and finding your rhythm with your baby.
Our Postpartum Doula Approach
Postpartum support at 615 Doula Co. is intentionally designed to meet families before and after baby arrives, because the early weeks don’t exist in isolation from the planning and preparation that come before them.
Some families begin with education and planning during pregnancy. Others reach out once baby is home and hands-on support is needed. Most find that a combination offers the greatest steadiness and ease.
Our offerings follow a simple, flexible framework:
Learn | Plan | Prepare | Support
Families may enter at any stage, and care adapts as needs change.

PLAN
Postpartum Planning Session
Planning creates clarity, reduces stress, and helps everyone show up with shared expectations once your baby arrives.
This session centers on your values, needs, and vision for postpartum, then turns them into a supportive, realistic plan.
Includes:
A 2.5-hour, personalized planning session in your home
Clarifies how you want postpartum to feel, then builds a practical structure to support that vision
Covers feeding, sleep, work transitions, food, recovery, emotional health, and home logistics
Maps out your support network: partner roles, family, friends, and professional care
Identifies where support will matter most — and where you want more independence
Ends with a written plan and clear next steps so your plan doesn’t live only in your head
PREPARE
“Make Home for Baby”
This workday is about making your home work for you so the early weeks feel more supported and less overwhelming. Some families like to jump in with us, while others would rather point the way and let us take it from there. Either approach works.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Most insurance plans do not currently cover doula services, though coverage is evolving. Many families are able to use HSA or FSA funds. We’re happy to provide detailed invoices for reimbursement requests.
If you have questions about your specific situation, feel free to email us at hello@615doulaco.com.
-
We recommend booking as early as the second trimester to ensure availability, especially if you’re interested in bundled or ongoing support. That said, we do our best to support families who reach out after baby arrives when availability allows.
-
After a free consultation, you’ll select the support option that best fits your needs. Postpartum care typically begins with a Postpartum Planning Session, which allows us to understand your family, priorities, and systems. From there, in-home support begins once baby arrives.
-
A night nurse (sometimes called a night nanny) typically focuses on overnight baby care, such as feeding, diapering, and soothing so parents can rest.
A nanny generally provides ongoing childcare, often during daytime hours, and may support a family long-term as a child grows. Nanny care is primarily centered on the baby or child.
A postpartum doula supports the entire family system during the early weeks after birth. In addition to baby care, postpartum doulas check in with parents, offer guidance around feeding and sleep, help establish household rhythms, and provide practical support like light tidying or simple food preparation. Emotional support and reassurance are also central—helping families feel steadier, more confident, and supported as they adjust to life with a new baby.
-
Yes. We support families across a range of feeding experiences, including breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or combination feeding. Our role includes basic support, reassurance, and observation—such as helping with positioning or noticing when additional support may be helpful. When needs extend beyond our scope, we coordinate referrals to trusted IBCLCs or other providers.
-
Postpartum is often defined as 12 weeks but we do not put an expiration date on postpartum. We support some families for several months.
-
Yes. Our care is family-centered and includes support for older siblings as part of the postpartum transition. During planning sessions, we talk through common emotional responses, help normalize feelings, and create practical strategies to support siblings as they adjust to welcoming a new baby.
While we don’t provide full childcare or nanny services, we guide families in navigating this transition thoughtfully.
-
Absolutely. Partners are deeply included in our work. We support the entire family—helping partners understand their role, find their footing, and feel confident during the postpartum transition.
